Randy Morrow is a veteran Realtor® in the highly specialized field of Real Estate Divorce. According to Randy,

he’s the only Certified Real Estate Divorce Specialist in Arlington and within the beltway, specializing in divorcing clients.

Randy is trained in the legal and tax aspects of the divorce process as it relates to real estate. His specialty is

learning about obscure divorce-related legal rulings, regulations, and tax implications. This enables him to help his divorcing clients take advantage of tax laws that are specific to selling a house during a divorce.

Randy stresses that he is a Realtor® not an attorney or a CPA. “Divorcing couples are going through one of the

most stressful times of their lives and they need all the help they can get. I know “ says Randy “ because I have

been through these times myself. I know from firsthand experience what my clients are feeling and why.

Any Realtor® can sell a home, but I understand the special problems and laws that govern the dissolution

of a marriage. As a Certified Real Estate Specialist, I will provide information and resources that most other real estate professionals, and even some attorneys, don’t know.”

Randy wishes his specialty wasn’t needed, but with over 50 percent of all marriages ending in divorce, quite often real estate is involved. Divorcing couples, Randy emphasizes, need a professional who can streamline the process to everyone’s benefit.

MY TRUE VALUE

Divorce is the most gut-wrenching, mind-numbing, excruciating event I ever hope to not experience again in this lifetime.  The pain was so bad at times that I was sure I was going to die.  The verbal abuse was the worst because words never leave you, they are there forever.

Naturally, if children are involved, the pain is multiplied.  If the divorce is contentious, the inevitable is the children being used as a carrot---“You want to see the kids?  Here’s what you have to do for me first”.

This describes my second divorce--from my kid’s mother.  Why do I call her the ‘kid’s mother’?  Because I could not (even to this day) say her name without all the venomous feelings well up inside me (this is even a problem when I meet someone with her name!).

My second marriage/divorce.  This was a rebound.  In fact, I almost backed out the night of the wedding but couldn’t get up the courage.  I knew it was a mistake.  She was just as insecure as I was; had a child; young.  When we divorced it was a great relief!

What about the first divorce you are asking?  That one happened when I was nine years old—my parents.  There are visions remaining in my head to this day.

There is one primary reason I am telling you these things about myself.  I believe this is where my true value will shine through as your Realtor®.  There is very little about divorce that I have not experienced.  When I am sitting across from you (and your spouse in many cases) you will know that I understand every emotion you are experiencing.  When I advise you, it will not be theoretical advice.

I am not an attorney or a psychiatrist or a counselor.  I happen to be a person who can not only sell your home and perhaps help you buy another; but, I can offer some personal experiences here and there to perhaps lessen your burden.

I am a person who knows this event is not going to kill you; who knows there are strengths undiscovered inside you.  I am the Realtor® who is going to treat you with ‘sensitivity, dignity, and fairness’.

I know that time, patience, effort, faith in yourself, and friendships will pull you through these times.  Good luck to you.  There IS a good life after divorce.

"Although he has extensive experience and impressive training credentials, Randy remains a humble student of the real estate game. Simply put, he is driven to be the best he can be and to provide the best service possible to the clients who look to him for guidance. I can think of no greater trait in a professional!" ~ Jay Papasan, October, 2010
